Microsoft Kinect Turntable 3D Scanner

A fast scanner prototype I built a few days ago. The software is a slightly modified version of Nicolas Burrus' RGBDemo 0.6.0 SLAM and RANSAC-based Kinect real-time reconstruction code. It works pretty well considering the 0 total price tag!

Why is Microsoft kinect spcial desighned for the new xbox slim?

Slim just has a new port in the back for easier conectivity. And they sell them bundled together, it still works fine on older models. Or I guess it will when releasedIt isnt, the only thing is that the Slim has a port for it and will not need an adapter, but the older 360 will require an adapter.With the new xbox slim you have a port that you can plug kinect into and you are ready to go. But with the old xbox's you will need an adapter (possibly) as well as a separate power cable to provide electricity to the kinect system,
