The DS is the first model and is fat and gross. The ds lite is just like the ds except the screens look great and it is a nice smaller compact size. the DSi is updated software with a dsi shop to download virtual games. has and outer and an inner camera. they all play the same games. if you go with the DSi you will lose the GBA slot to play gameboy advanced games howver. The DSi Xl is exactly like the DSi just bigger.The games are interchangeable. The difference is the size, weight, battery life, and screen size.
A nintendo DS is the first model. Its fat chunky and has a smaller screen than the others
