What is the difference between Xbox 360 consoles?
Best answer:
The arcade version doesn't come with a hard drive, so games can't really be saved. You can get the regular console that is just fine, or the Elite which comes with a bigger hard drive, The elite also comes with a hd cord, but you can buy that separately. A standard xbox bundle from best buy or walmart is perfectly fine, they usually come with a couple games or another controller. Either way, I'm sure he'll love it.The Premium, also called the Elite is most expensive and has a 120GB Hard Drive.
The Pro, being the mid-priced one has a 60GB hard drive.
The Arcade being the least expensive, has no hard drive, only a 256MB memory card.

If he will be getting an Xbox Live Gold membership, allowing him to play on-line with friends, then you want at least a 60GB hard-drive, for all the cool stuff you can down load from the Marketplace. This is done by buying a microsoft points card at any retailer that sells xbox 360's.
But the Silver Membership is free, but you can't do as much stuff. Each console comes with One Month Free for the Gold membership.

The Striking Choices of Xbox 360 Console Games And Accessories
Article by Andy Immotna
The Xbox 360 when it was initially introduced was the only next generation in the market before Nintendo's Wii and Sony's Playstation 3 came about. Nintendo's Wii initially sold more consoles in the market compared to the Xbox 360 since its launching, however 360 is still superior than the Playstation 3. Serious gamers still prefer the Xbox 360 console despite the many games available and future titles to be released in the near future. The Xbox 360 console may not do good in Europe and Asia, but it is exceedingly performing good in North America.
Basic Tips For An Effective Xbox 360 Console
If you are considering purchasing an Xbox 360 console, then you need to take a few minutes to consider how you'll be using it. If you have a high definition television, then you'll want to pick up HDMI or component cables to get 720p or higher graphics. The standard composite cables don't produce great resolutions, so you'll want to chip in for the better cables. Also, you may want to pick up an extra controller or two so that your friends can play with you in games that have multiplayer or co-op modes. To guarantee that you never need to change the batteries, consider purchasing a charging station for your Xbox 360 console. When you're done playing for the day, simply place the batteries into the charging station so that they will be fully charged the next day.
Of course, you must purchase games to be able to enjoy the Xbox 360 console at all. If you are just starting out, then you can single out classics like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion at a great discount. There's no need to hurry out and pick up the absolute newest games instantly because there are countless classics that you ought to enjoy first. On the subject of games, the Xbox 360 console has a number of exclusives, and most of the popular games (except for Metal Gear Solid 4 and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, for instance) are available for the Xbox 360 as well. Recently, Square Enix announced that its upcoming title, Final Fantasy XIII, will also be released for the Xbox 360 instead of just for the Playstation 3.
There are lots of cheats for Xbox 360 available out there if you're the kind of player that prefers to play alone. Supports for cheats are included in most games so you can easily turn on invincibility or unlimited ammunition and be on fire through the game. This also provides choices for gamers to enjoy their games. The developer's goal in developing the Xbox 360 console is for players to absolutely have fun in playing the game, while some are just fun to go crazy with. The Xbox 360 console has been thoroughly tested and works great with all media, standard accessories and Xbox live. There are a lot of great games and accessories available in the market with a great price, but definitely Xbox 360 console is the console of option for fanatic gamers.
