Is it required to play Gears of war first before playing Gears of War 2?

No all that happens is a war is started and they (The Gears) kill the general of the other army (Locusts) and set off a bomb inside the Locust hideout (underground)..Gears is supposed to be a trilogy so it would be helpful if you play Gears 1 before playing Gears 2. It's not necessary, but you might not understand some of the stuff that happens in 2. Of course, you can always use gamefaqs or Wiki to brush up on what happened in Gears 1.no, i didnt. the story sucks so people just get it because of the good graphics and fun-ness.

Uncharted 3 vs. Gears of War 3: Which One Would You Dig?

The battle for console superiority has been taking place for 5 years now. Since Xbox 360 has the early advantage (pretty much by a year), the world has experienced great gaming beyond our wildest imagination. For 2005 and the earlier half of 2006, the world only knew one next-generation console -Xbox 360. But on latter part of 2006, Playstation 3 has surfaced - and the battle for console supremacy has officially begun.One of the few ways of earning a solid fan base in the gaming realm is to make exclusive games for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Ever since 2006, both of these consoles have been going at it in terms of overall gameplay, graphics, and the "wow" factor it brings to the consumer's lives. As of 2011, the battle still lives on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are set to release their most ultimate games yet, Gears of War 3 and Uncharted 3.
Numerous gaming conventions give out free Uncharted 3 stickers and merchandise to keep fans on the edge of their seats while waiting for its release. Of course, free Gears of War 3 merchandise is also being given out to even up the competition. Despite both games giving out freebies, no one will ever know for sure who would reign supreme until both game titles hit the shelves. So for now all we can do is wait for another war that's going to take place in the last quarter of 2011.
Even though both games are unreleased as of yet, Gears of War 3 and Uncharted 3 has been making quite a buzz in the internet today - both assuring loyal fans that it is their best creation to date. Although, we the gamers have yet to verify that come fall of 2011. Rumors were spreading on the web as well that there will be certain internet companies that will give away free Uncharted 3 games for subscribing to game magazines, or buying limited edition consoles equipped with either a free Uncharted 3 for Playstation 3, or a free Gears of War 3 for Xbox 360.
If you own both consoles, chances are you will be torn up in selecting which game would you play first (unless you have the money to buy both right away, you rich bastard). Some people weigh their options in terms of gameplay, graphics and compelling storyline. But what if both games promise to deliver just that? Would you settle with Marcus Fenix and save rid Sera of Locusts, or should you side with Nathan Drake as you uncover the world's mysteries right before your very eyes.
If you are torn up to choose, my friend, I would seriously suggest that you check both game demos, check out the development pages and weigh your options from there. There are rumors spreading that a free Gears of War 3 game demo will be available a month before the actual release so make sure that you tune into your Xbox Live account so you would never be left behind with news, updates and in-depth scoop of what's next to come in the console wars.
